Academisation Development Consultation
Following the Archdiocese’s vision to strengthen Catholic education through larger, flourishing Catholic Multi-Academy Trusts, St Raphael the Archangel CMAT was established on 1 September 2026.
The next proposed phase is for Pope Francis Catholic MAC, Holy Cross Catholic MAC, Romero Catholic Academy and eleven Voluntary Aided schools to join St Raphael the Archangel CMAT on 1 September 2027. This consultation provides an opportunity for stakeholders to learn more about the proposal and share their views on the future of Catholic education across our communities.
As part of the process, we are now consulting the parents, parishes, and community of our schools for the period 4th September 2026 to 16th October 2026. See letter here which includes a form to send your comments.

On behalf of our pupils, staff and the Local Governing Board, we welcome you to Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School, one of eight schools that proudly belongs to the Romeo Catholic Academy. Our school motto of Omnia pro Christo – Everything for Christ, is a guiding principle at the heart of all we do, shaping our mission to nurture every young person in their faith, learning, and personal growth.
At Cardinal Wiseman, our Compass for Life provides direction for our pupils as they navigate their journey of faith and education; the compass has four points representing our core values of Knowledge, Respect, Ambition and Resilience with Christ at the centre. These values underpin our commitment to developing young people of integrity and compassion, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and character to thrive in an ever-changing world.
We are proud to offer an ambitious and enriching curriculum that challenges and inspires all pupils, regardless of their starting point. We believe in high expectations and excellence for all, ensuring that each child is supported and encouraged to reach their full God -given potential. Our school is a community where everyone is valued, respected and included. It is a school where diversity is celebrated as a strength.
Beyond the classroom, we provide a wealth of opportunities for personal development, leadership and service, helping our pupils to grow into confident, responsible, and faith-filled individuals. Our dedicated staff are committed to guiding and nurturing every pupil, ensuring they leave us as well-rounded individuals ready to embrace the future with courage and conviction.
We look forward to welcoming you to our school community and working together to ensure that your child flourishes in all aspects of their life.
