Curriculum choices: You will be able to study a wide range of qualifications including combinations of A levels and vocational BTEC courses, (if you so wish). Results: We are consistently one of the top performing sixth form centres for outcomes in the Greater Coventry area. Pastoral and Careers Support: You will be a member of a form group led by an experienced tutor who is your daily point of contact. To help with preparation for life after Sixth Form, you will receive independent careers education and guidance from Prospects. You will also be supported with university applications by our dedicated UCAS Mentor. Learning Environment: There are dedicated learning facilities in our Sixth Form Centre; we have silent and group study areas, an IT suite and a set of laptops. When the weather is fine, students can even study outdoors in the St Francis Sixth Form garden. Outcomes: Typically, 80% of our Year 13 students go to University with a significant number accessing Russell Group Universities, Oxbridge & medical courses. Independence with responsibility: Post 16 students are allocated a number of study periods. These lessons should be used constructively for learning: they are not free time. Independent study is an essential skill that students have to master in order to be completely successful with level 3 qualifications. It is the difference between study at GCSE and level 3. Students will be expected to complete this independent study, which could be in the form of reading or researching, in addition to all homework that is set by teachers. Student Voice: Students can take a leading part in the day-to-day running and development of the Sixth Form through the Sixth Form Student Council.
