Ski Trip 2021

Dear Parent/Carer

I am pleased to announce plans for a Ski Trip in 2021 to the Salzburger Sportwelt Austria, departing school on Saturday 30 January 2021 and returning on Friday 5 February 2021.

Our staff are very experienced in leading a ski trip of this nature and we are travelling with IBT Travel, a specialist in organising educational trips.

Why Go?

This is a fantastic opportunity for complete beginners or intermediate/advanced skiers to enjoy skiing in breath-taking mountain scenery whilst also benefiting from the cultural experience that a foreign country offers. The Ski Amade region is an excellent ski area with a very good snow record and the hotel is designed specifically for school groups. Travelling and staying away from home will also help pupils become more independent, develop more confidence and make new friends. Many students who go on school ski trips pick up a new skill (and passion) that stays with them for life.

 

PLEASE NOTE: Winter sports can be dangerous and pupils selecting to go must be trustworthy. Any pupil with current or future concerns over behaviour or attendance could jeopardise their place on the trip. Any pupil, whose behaviour compromises the health or safety of themselves or any other person, could be removed from the trip and parents/carers will be required to collect them from the resort in Austria at their own expense.

How much does it cost?

The cost per person is approximately £900.00 which should be paid in instalments prior to the trip via Parentmail. We are giving you as much notice as possible to enable you to stagger payments and make it more accessible to more students.

 

The cost includes: Return flights and coach transfers; 5 days skiing with 5 hours of tuition per day with qualified instructors; Ski, boot and helmet hire; Lift pass; Full board accommodation; Winter sports insurance; Evening entertainment package; Cardinal Wiseman ski trip hoodie.

 

Meals en-route and pocket money (no more than £10-15 per day recommended) are not included. Other costs that are not included are a passport and the purchase/hire of specialist clothing. Items such as gloves, socks, goggles, and hats must be bought but I recommend that jackets and ski trousers are hired. All of this can be arranged through the school with a clothing company.

 

With regard to payments, I detail below the schedule:

 

Deposit                     by 28 February 2020                    £200.00         (non-refundable)

2nd payment             by 06 April 2020                         £175.00           (non-refundable)

3rd payment              by 26 June 2020                         £175.00

4th payment              by 11 September 2020                 £175.00

Final balance            by 21 October 2020              £175.00*

You can make payments whenever you wish, but the payment dates and amounts listed above must be honoured as we have to make staged payments to the company. Please remember this is a firm commitment and the deposits are strictly NON REFUNDABLE and this amount could increase as the date of final payment draws nearer. Payments cannot be transferred to other school trips. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

 

What do you need to do next?

If you would like to apply for a place for your child on this trip please complete the attached slip and return it to Mr Kingshott before 14 February 2020. We will then set up a Parentmail account through which all payments should be made. Confirmation of a place will be sent on payment of the deposit which must be received before

28 February2020.
