In Romero, the journey from primary continues at Cardinal Wiseman Catholic Secondary. Through Cardinal Wiseman, we belong to a Catholic school that is built upon faith and enriched by the many members that form living stones in our community; our school vision and mission is underpinned by our motto ‘Everything for Christ’.
Cardinal Wiseman overall effectiveness in all areas is good (Ofsted May 2022). We warmly welcome you to consider our school as a place for your child in Year 7; we know that God has a vocation and plan for each pupil and know that our school community will be blessed by the presence of the new pupils that join us in September 2022.
Join us for our Open Evening for Year 7 2023 on Thursday 22nd September at 6pm.
We ask our pupils to ‘Be incredible’, and to put Christ at the centre of all they think, say and do. This is reinforced in our school prayer said at the start of each lesson:
“All that I think,
And all that I say,
And all that I am,
Everything for Christ.
Amen.”
The S48 Inspection in November 2018 stated:
“Pupils have a good sense of vocation and recognise they are called to serve. The school motto, ‘All things for Christ’, is promoted into all aspects of school life.
The school’s leadership is deeply committed to the Church’s mission in education. Leaders are a source of inspiration to staff and pupils. Catholic Life is seen as a core leadership responsibility and is key to all decision making.”

Choosing a school for your child.

Year 6 children have taken home an important leaflet about choosing a secondary school for September 2023.

You can apply online at www.coventry.gov.uk/admissions

Please be aware that there is a high number of applications moving through to Secondary school in the city at the current time. This means there will be more demand for places and we strongly advise you complete three choices on your applications and you complete by the deadline above.  Cardinal Wiseman will be holding a series of events online, potentially on site at a later date in October as our partnered Secondary school within the MAC.

Please note that we were expecting a full inspection (Section 5) report from Ofsted in Spring/ Summer 2020 but due to COVID-19 this has been postponed until Autumn 2021 onwards.

We self-evaluate our school in all areas as at least Good and we look forward to welcoming Ofsted when inspection is resumed to confirm our judgement.
